I’ve got 5 grandkids between 2 and 8 years old that want to open everything when they visit. It’s not an in drawer type but I’ve used this Gunvault mounted to the side of my nightstand for years and been pleased. Very secure while being easy and fast to access if necessary. Not sure if the current models are any different.

Something I do since my niece has moved in and wasn't around growing up. I keep my bedroom door locked. More knives laying around then anything. Also have a lock to dad's/uncle's closet. My sister and I are the only ones with the key. It house's my safe, some ammo, black powder, and other fun things. Also take time to show your kids how they work. Takes the curiosity away. All mine know they can hold anything I have with me present. Knives and swords included.
