I bought a Remington 700 SPS Tactical a few years ago and I finally got around to mounting a scope on it this week. I'm not a Tactical dude, but I like this little rifle.
The scope rides on a Brownell's Picatinny aluminum base in TPS TSR aluminum rings and is the 3x12 with Nikoplex reticle / rapid action turret set-up. I used Hornady .223 55gr. V-max ammunition with the advertised velocity that the scope is calibrated for.
No real shocker, as it worked exactly as it is supposed to! Bore sighted, then confirmed on paper @50yds. Then a consistent zero @ 100. Once I reset the turrets, I posted targets at 200 and 300 yards and they were no problem! I was impressed that it held MOA at all ranges even with me behind the rifle! I moved back to 200 to test repeatability and it did just fine as well. I really like the turrets that are so easily adjusted. I don't mean that they turn too easily either. They have firm positive movement. I won't be low crawling with this thing so it's fine with me. I doubt highly that normal handling or storage will move them. The parallax knob is the only one that truly locks in place, which seems strange to me but I'm no expert. Personally, I like being able to dial in range rather than using the BDC, which I have on my 7mm-08 in a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5x14. So to sum it up, I think they are all good products if it's what you're looking for!
