I'm really wanting a new scope for my AR15, this will be for paper punching. My two choices are either a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40, or a Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40. I currently have a 3200 10x40, and like the target turrets, but need a parallax free picture which it doesn't have. Anybody that has either one, please comment on how you like it. Both scopes have great reviews, and are in my $300 price range:)

Have you looked at the fixed power Super Snipers? The $320 10x model has a rear parallax adjustment (it also has a eyepiece focus but actually has a rear parallax adjustment). The target knobs on the SS will be better and more repeatable than the Nikon or Bushnell and it will have more than double the internal adjustment I'm betting. It's made in Japan also and has glass on par with either the Buckmaster or 3200. the tradeoff for all that is that it is fixed magnification. Otherwise I would get the Nikon but the Bushnell has the hydrophobic rainguard coating that rocks. It's really a tossup though.

of the 2 you mentioned i would get the nikon, but thats not from experience. just from what my personal opinion.

the only scopes i own that i use are simmons. i own some ncstars but was not too happy with the glass at higher power settings

I've looked through and handled both the Nikon and Bushnell you speak of. I'd go for the Bushnell as I like the look of the scope better and the target knobs better. But the Nikon is a good scope too. They are very comparable.

Don't know much about Nikon Scopes, but the elevation on my Bushnell 3200, allways returns to the same spot. Are these Elite 3200 scopes as good as the old B&Ls that they took over?

Well, I ended up ordering a Weaver T-24:) Will let you know how it compares to the Elite 3200 in a few days. If I don't like it on my AR15, my Savage 10FP .308, will more than happy to wear it:D

I would like to know the same thing. I recently put a Buckmaster 6-18X40 on my .22 Hornet, and it can be tough to see .22 bullet holes in the black. You can kind of see them depending on the light/glare, and I was wondering how the Bushnell 3200 series would compare.

I have a Weaver 36X sitting around JD, and thought about putting it on the Hornet, but it's really too much power for under 100 yards, and even then if the mirage is bad, it is a bit much.

I like the Buckmaster scope, but wonder if I should have spent the money for the Monarch, or the 3200 series etc.

I've only got one complaint with the 3200 10x40, and that is, no parallax adjustment. Its good at 150yrds, but at 200, I bet theres 6" of movement. The tracking for elevation has been spot on, always returning to my 100yrd zero. I dont hunt, so low light visibility is not an issue, but the 3200 has good, clear glass;) I'll be picking up the Weaver on Tuesday, and hopefully get out to the range to test.
