There was a thread a while back with a photo of a boot with a ninja symbol on it & the phrase "imagine the future as a boot stomping the face of humanity" or something like that. Where would that pic be? I remember the quote was by Orwell.

I do believe Oleg has such a pic, although I think you're mistaken about the ninja symbol. What did the ninja symbol look like?

What does any ninja symbol look like, for that matter?

That was it. Thanks. I'm going to save that to my PC for future reference. Thanks again. Anyone else notice the swastika on that boot?

EDIT: The ninja symbol looks like a throwing star.

on the heal is a hammer/sickle. Now that I am older I know why the BATFE hates our guns so much. We are the only real threat to thier power and they FEAR us

I saw the swastika after you pointed it out. Going off on a tangent here, Do you know what the swastika really means?

Er, I saw the swastika and the hammer/sickle right away, but I still don't see the ninja shuriken symbol thing.

>edit: Oh, wait - Are you referring to the star-shaped glare from the JBT's weapon light?

"Do you know what the swastika really means?"

It represents a purely evil people:fire: . I despise Nazis's & all they stand for. I may not like Jesse Jackson because he's a hipocrite & media whore, but that doesn't mean I hate all black people. When I was young, my godmother was black.

"I still don't see the ninja shuriken symbol thing."

It's not on there. I was mistaken.

What happened in 1984?

Run, do not walk to a bookstore. Look for a book written by George Orwell. The name, is 1984. Keep in mind, it was written quite a long time ago. What is eerie is how prophetic that book has become. To see what I mean, when you finish it, contrast how the main character reacts near the end to the authorities to how we as 'free' Americans react when The Voice commands us to kneel.

It's 12:30 at night right now. Bookstore's closed:D .

I have read "V for Vendetta"* & that sounds similar.

*obviously:D .

I noticed on MXC on the Door Jam game, they had the top of a guy's bald head blurred out since it had the manji drawn on it.

The swastika pre-dates the Nazis by a millenia or three - they just perverted the symbol.

If he is going to read 1984.....

....let's not forget Anthem by Ayn Rand.
IIRC it was published before Orwell's book.

i assume that you mean does anyone know what it meant/symbolized BEFORE the national socialist party co-opted and thereby forever tainted it....

if so then you are reffering to a symbol that prior to 1933 stood for good luck, prosperity etc. to a very wide range of cultures it appears in various forms in Native american, northern european, and even japanese culture.

when first formed the symbol of the 45th Inf, Div was a yellow swastika on a square red background, it was not untill 1939 that the 45th dropped the symbol and instead adopted the thunderbird in it's place (and for the same reason, both being symbols of import to the division's high percentage of native american troops)

unfortunately the sign is unforgivably tainted by it's use as THE predominant symbol of one of the worst regimes in human history.

The swastika was an Indian symbol of peace and prosperity.
The entrance foyer of the Town of Hull, Massachusetts had four swastikas of inlaid marble. The Town Hall was built in the 1920's before Adolph got all up in the face of the free world. It offended those who are easily offended. The entrance was carpeted over in the early 1990's.

Covering up symbols is sort of like blowing up Buddha statues. It removes the responsibility to think. Hitler's swastika was actually the mirror image of the Indians, appropriately enough.

I recall when I was a boy, hearing the Nazi symbol is a backwards/upside-down version of the Indian properity version. Anyone know if that is correct?

No, both are "right facing" (top arm pointed to the right). there is a considerable amount of confusion on this due to efforts during and post WW2 to seperate the symbol's use by the nazis from it's use as a GOOD symbol by cultures other than 30's-40's germany.

I'm impressed! A lot of people seem to be very intelligent here, What else can we find in this image? The hammer and sickle has been mentioned, nobody commented on the "UN standard issue" stamp on the instep of the boot in question IIRC. From what I see, the helmet shape seems to be that of either the US or Germany, while the foresight and gas tube on the weapon seems to be that of the G3 family.

Going off on another tangent here, Germany is an often maligned country. My sister live in Germany for a year ('97-98) as an exchange student in Chemnitz, which IIRC is in the former East Germany. While she was studying there, they had her take History as part of the curriculum, and she's told me before that a History class in Germany is very very much different than here in the States. IDK if this applies to only Eastern Germany, or all of Europe, but the US was seen as an aggressor in the history books, not Germany as an aggressor towards everybody.

SOP. Every country has teams that re-write history books to fit their agenda. It reminds me of a quote that I believe firmy in. "Propoganda is written by the victor. History is wrote by the observer." I'm a observer.

I will also point out that she says she learned that the Russians were considered to be the liberators, much like the Americans were to the French.

"But she asked one of the coolest questions in all of literature, "Who is John Gault?" "

Who IS John Gault? Never heard of him.
