The Swastika is still popularly used by Hindus and Buddhists and means roughly "well-being". You can see them everywherr if you travel thru-out Asia, often at temples, carved into the palms of Buddhas. Nepalese khukris will sometimes be decorated with them.

Finland adopted the Swastika shortly after its independence from Russia after WWI. The symbol was borrowed from Hindu sources via Sweden and became a national symbol for their military vehicles (primarily aircraft) and flags. They had no relation to the Nazi symbol.

VforVendetta, you have some really great reading experiences coming up. 1984, Brave New World, Atlas Shrugged.

All a bit dreary and dark, but real mind-benders. Try Animal Farm, by George Orwell first, it is short and really hits the point.

In reference to the whole "Communism equals Fascism" debate, I'd like to point out one small item that's often overlooked:

Communism generally means that a "benevolent" government of wise men rule everything, including industry, farming, and all personal behavior. Look at China for some telling examples.

Fascism generally means that one or more national corporations control the government, which then controls the population. Look somewhere like Venezuela for examples.

In my opinion, the main difference between the two systems of governing is finding out who gets paid at the end of the day. Also, in my opinion, you can look around here, in the good ol' U. S. of A. for some more prime examples of both.

There are more differences than that
One of the most basic being
To each according to his needs from each according to his abilities compared to the weak are to discarded for the good of the whole
