Nipple Size Chart

I did not see Uberti or Armi Sam Marco whose revolver nipples are size 12-28 in the guns I own: ASM 'Colt Navies & 1860 Army, Uberti Remington NMA.

Where the chart is titled "Manufacturer," it actually is a list of importers and dealers here in the States.

Many of whom are no longer selling or importing BP (or in business at all.)

My guess is that this chart was born early on when BP guns were dealer/importer marked but often only had a cryptic logo to link them to the actual manufacturer.

The customer a half century ago (no wonder I feel so old) would have identified more readily with the local gun store that sold the gun rather than an entity in Italy when shopping for replacement nipples.

Since Hubbard's Mag Spark seems to be only for side lock rifles and pistols, I wonder if these thread sizes are also only for those guns and unrelated to nipples for the revolvers sold by these companies.

The nipple sizes indicated as "6.1" and "6.75" should read:

"6.1" is 6-1mm

"6.75" is 6 -.75mm

With few exceptions,
American-made rifles use 1/4" X 28; (T/C side lock models for example)

Italian-made rifles use 6-.75mm (Lyman Great Plains Rifle, for example) (Muskets are a whole new ball game)

Spanish-made rifles use 6-1mm (CVA & Traditions imports, for example)
