As many of you know, Governor Corzine and the anti-gun lobby have successfully passed the One Gun A Month bill, adding insult to injury here in the Garden State where it already takes on average 60 days or more to get a pistol purchase permit.

In exchange for influence peddling and buying votes, the Governor (knowing his election is shaky at best) has agreed to assemble a 9 member "Task Force" to review the state's laws and their impact on the law-abiding gun owning community.

We are asking all NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS to please go to the link below and add your name and address to the petition.

Task Force Petition

Our intent is to clobber the Governor over the head to nominate ONLY RKBA FRIENDLY members to this panel. The deck has always been stacked against us, this is a small, easy thing to do to even the playing field.

ALL INFORMATION SUBMITTED IS PRIVATE, WILL NOT BE SEEN BY THE PUBLIC AND IS STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL ONLY FOR USE TO SUBMIT TO THE GOVERNOR, SENATE PRESIDENT AND ASSEMBLY SPEAKER.

Please don't hesitate. Don't wait for someone else's approval. Don't wait around to see what everyone else does. Don't be cynical and refuse to cooperate because you're despondent - there are still those of us who care and are trying to do something for you, too. Time is of the essence here.

We have less than one week left to gather signatures and get them to the Governor's desk for review.

Do It Now!!!

Moderators, would one of you please sticky this post until the 24th of July?

Signed

Although I feel like this is nothing more than a sham by the governor to make it look like he gives a damn about gun rights, I filled it out, because I won't sit by and do nothing.

Who knows, maybe this will help.

Folks, thanks so much for jumping in. Yes, in the end it just might be another exercise in futility, but if we allow ourselves to be beaten before we even try, then the liberals won by default. I''m not one to go down without a fight, and it gives me the moral justification to complain because I've paid my dues by trying to do something.

There are random reports of the page not loading properly on some machines with some versions of Internet Exploder. One member reported that it went through on the 4th attempt. Please do keep trying. If you're still having trouble and want to participate, PM me and I'll get you entered manually, and ask you to just email me as a backup so that we have documentation that you authorized me to do so.

All I have to say is (and please forgive the cliche), "The only thing evil needs to flourish is for good men to do nothing.". Take the ten seconds to fill out the form whether or not you believe it can do something.

Guys, we're up to only 93 signatures so far. That's pitiful. If we're ever going to change things, as a community we need to become far more responsive to these opportunities. The liberals are out there using the internet, blackberries, twitter and other high-tech tools to rob us of our rights while we sit around wondering where they've gone.

For this to be effective we need to be well over 1000 signatures. Let's keep it going.

The best is.... one Sponsors of the Bill Assemblyman Joe Vas is under indictment, I guess that don’t count…. what a state

Folks, as many of you are aware, the OGAM bill has passed, the task force members have been named, and we've already testified at one of the open meetings. Please visit the NJCSD website to see what we've been up to.

On gun issues in NJ ---> Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss. Candidate Christy confirmed that during and interview with Sean Hannity on FoxNews about 2.5 weeks ago.

Keep in mind after Gov Florio rammed the "Assault weapon ban” though with DEMS in control both houses and they lost the following election and the REPs gained control. The Former Assembly leader Chuck Haytaian (R) set fourth to overturn it. Mr Haytaian did his job but Senate leader Donny D (R) killed it in the Senate. That was with Rep control of both houses, so with the DEMS in control I would not get too excited about OGAM getting overturned.

Oh, believe me - we're under no delusions. Best we can hope for is that Christie is neutral on the issue and no new stupidity comes down the pike. That said, we're working on reaching out to him because I think his views are framed based on misconceptions arising from decades of media manipulation that we hope to correct.

I would like to hope that Cristie is more then just neutral, but rather much more supportive of New Jersey gun owners and the combined power that we can muster if we all stand together. Why is it that we are such a loose bunch when we all share the same goals and wants?

Sadly, in the general NJ population, we're still outnumbered by the liberals who want gun control...

For some reason, just saw this now...heading to the site now to see if there's anything I can still do, even though I'm moving in less than two weeks...

in NJ Gun control problems were fabricated by the DEMs, specifically the Fl*rio Administration. They created the “assault weapon boogie-man” to give the appearance that they were actually doing something, it was misinformation at its best. Here’s one example. 16 years ago in 1993 just after the first (FAILED) terrorist attack on the World Trade Center Fl*rio comes out in a press conference talking about the assault weapons ban. Keep in mind you just had a “muslin extremist” with a car bomb who attempted to take down the WTC and Fl*rio with a little misdirection & Sleight of hand starts talking about assault weapons? It was mind-boggling, I could not believe what I was hearing. I said to myself *** is this guy talking about? it then became obvious from that point on that perception is everything and reality is nothing in NJ.

It’s no wonder why these guys want gun control. Fast-Forwards a few years. Joe Vas (mentioned above) and Fl*rio’s buddy Former Sen. Wayne Bryant a strong proponent of the assault weapons ban were taking care of themselves very nicely. Senator Bryant was recently convicted bribery and fraud, see link below. http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/07/former_sen_wayne_bryant_gets.html

There were already enough laws on the books to combat crime. all that needed to be done was enforce the existing laws, but no, instead Fl*rio and his cronies deprive the law abiding citizens. The working people get screwed every time in this state but that's nothing new here. I plan to move as well.
Gov Christy would have to cut property taxes in half and reverse the assault on our 2nd amendment rights for me to even entertain the thought of staying in NJ.

on a brighter note since I mentioned the WTC it was great to see the USS New York get it's commission yesterday, always remember 9.11.01
