kinda trying to find out if there's anybody out there who has both long barrel and short barrel uberti new armies I ask because I bought a set of grips for my short Barrel uberti but they are too big I'm wondering if the short Barrel take smaller grips

No, the Sheriff grips shouldn't be any different.

Did you purchase grips compatable to Uberti...?

Parts are not always interchangeable between manufacturers.

I have a ‘58 Remington clone made by God knows who that I inherted from my Father in Law. The markings on it are all but illegible.
The grips on it are a bit long and look to be cut by a chainsaw.

Tried putting Pietta grips on it just for grins... nowhere close to the size and shape of the grip frame.

So, to make a short story long, all grips are not created equal.

Yes I did buy the one specifically for Uberti that's why I couldn't understand why it didn't fit
