i freakin did it--no brainer

stamp is in hand, sbr banging away. like i said in my original post--kiss.

how difficult is it to make a sbr--remove the 16" barrel and install an engraved sbr barrel.

my trust is set so that when i go to that target range in the sky, the original barrel will be reinstalled. the sbr barrel decommissioned, the rifle will then be removed from the registry. my "beneficiary" may then sell the weapon in it's original configuration. :neener:

Changing barrels on an AR is no real chore, just takes the right tools. Might be easier to just swap uppers and if you ever want to go back to the "original configuration" you just but the upper back on and it is exactly as you bought it.

one always assumes ar's. swapping an ar barrel is maybe 10min. total. think of other guns that can be swapped out.

WOW, only six days for your stamp. Mine took 8 months almost to the day! Guess I was one of the "unlucky" ones, too cheap to pay for expedited processing

whoever said 6 days--try 6 months.

Your original post is worded in terms of what you "would" do, not what you have already done, and it sounded like you had a question to ask the forum. Apparently not. Apparently you've already made your own trust and used it to get a tax stamp, so you didn't really need anyone's advice.

That's why it sounds like you decided to make a trust and then got a tax stamp approved in 6 days.
