No Hunting For Me

I had both of my eyes done for cataracts. Absolutely no problems with either surgery. I had the first one done 4 weeks after turning 65. Get everything lined up ahead of time to avoid delays.

If I remember right, I had to refrain from shooting for 6-8 weeks afterwards.

Oh, bummer. Well, we do what we have to do. Biggest bummer if I have to miss dove season is I'll not get to use my Christmas present, a new CZ Redhead O/U 20 gauge. That thing fits SO fine, I've just been dreaming about using it. At least I've popped a few clays with it.

I guess shooting the 10 gauge on geese is out if I have to wait. That'd probably pop the new lenses out in one shot. ROFL! Perhaps I'll break out the .30-30 barrel for my Contender and just sit in my box blind and hunt deer/hogs with the handgun. The OP might consider that, too, with a bum shoulder.

I was not supposed to shoot a rifle/shotgun for 12 weeks after bypass surgery because of danger to the sternum. However, I was hunting with a crossbow 7 weeks after surgery. There are alternatives if you think about it.

Go dove hunting anyway with your nice 20 ga. Opening day doves are sometimes stupid and alight on a branch or wire near the shooters sometimes. :scrutiny:

I will be shooting a 12ga. buy then , unless something unforeseen happens like my torn rotator cuff again . I feel good enough now to shoot one , but I am going to follow the DR's orders . He said that I will be totally healed in 2 more months .
