I called Alliant, Hodegens, and Hornady to no avail.

Im looking for Ruger only load data for:

Blue Dot powder: 240 gr. XTP mag .452 Diam
......................: 265 Gr. keith style HP with gas check .452 Diam

H-110 Powder : 240 Gr. XTP mag .452 diam
...................: 265 gr. Keith Style HP with gas check .452 Diam.

Will be using winchester primers for mag or standard loads.

Shooting out of a Winchester 94 or Ruger black hawk.

I just took a quick look at the Hodgdon load data site and there is data for a 240gr jacketed bullet and H110 on their site...

IMO there is no reason to hot rod the 45 Colt. A 250/255gr bullet @900 fps is a very effective load.

thanks. that is load data for the serria 240 gr jhp. may work up with that as a start.

im hot rodding the .45 colt for a hog hunt where 1850 FPS beats 1150 FPS any day. been there done that, now it is strictly for hunting and defense.

Something about a cartridge designed in 1872 that is still around and kicking up with a 44 mag in the right gun is just awesome to me. life long goal of mine is to take lots of north American game with the win 94 in .45 colt. hogs are second on the list after the deer i got this last season.

I do have some old load data from a few years ago on the 265 gr keith with IMR 4227. may just go back to that if no one has any thing for me.

That is what my Black Powder loads are doing. 40 grns by volume of FFFG Olde Eynsford under a 250 grn PRS Big Lube bullet.

thanks guys, but i didn't ask if i should load it or not. i have in the past an i will again. Please for future posts do not tell me what you think about "hot rodding" the .45 colt. it is perfectly capable of handling 35k cup pressure in the right fire arms that i own and use for hunting. So no load data dont post. thanks

45 Colt, Ruger only loads have been posted and discussed adnauseum.

Not being a smart arse but a simple Google and Ruger only 45 Colt loads will bring forth lots of info.

There are also many threads here. There actually is load data.:)

This took all of 2 seconds
