No Longer a CZ Owner

Traded my first and last CZ (RAMI 2075P 9mm) tonight for a XDm 3.8. I purchased the CZ about 3 months ago. The gun had the poorest quality trigger of any of the many guns I own. I sent it back to CZ and had a combat trigger, skeletonized hammer, 13# main spring installed and a complete action job. This cured the trigger issues. The gun would feed range ammo, but would only reliably feed Speer Gold Dot ammo. I tried Hornaday, Remington, Federal, and Winchester PD ammo, but the gun consistently failed to feed all of these. I have never experienced anything like this with any of my other pistols (Berettas, Kahr, Springfields, Walthers, S&W's). This CZ pistol is far too picky on ammo for me. I will not purchase another CZ.

Sorry to hear you had so many problems. I have never shot the CZ RAMI, but I have recently bought a CZ SP-01 and although I have only put a little over 500 rounds through it, I have had ZERO problems. While I agree it's not the smoothest trigger I do continually hit center mass and center mass only, so I guess it can't be that bad. I say all of this because I wonder if maybe there was something wrong with yours.

I have a 2 full size steel CZ's and I sold my berretta, glock, ruger, and M&P because the CZ's were simply more accurate, just as reliable and fit my had great.

I have shot sigs and XD and I still shoot my CZ's better.

Maybee the rami is problematic. I believe the 40 version did have some problems for awhile.

Dang it! And I thought CZ's were good guns, now what am I going to do with the one's I have.

MY CZ's (including a Rami) have NEVER failed to go bang.

If I were to criticize the Rami, I'd say it's too thick, and the slide release should be longer.
But the machining is first rate, it's 100% reliable, the finish impeckable, and it uses magazines from other CZ's.
(Although my 20 round SP-01 mags stick out a bunch, they are fun at the range.)

I dont own a RAMI but it will be the next CZ I buy, I have switched to CZs exclusivly and couldnt be happier.

I mean its good he is posting the info tho, need both a positive and negative viewpoint.


EDIT: Just realized it was the polymer version. CZ has a history of not doing polymer very well, and most of the people who buy CZs opt for the metal versions. Never heard it was problematic, but they are ugly and not any lighter than the alloy versions of the same pistol.

You really opened up a can by criticizing a CZ on this forum. I have had only one, a 75B and it was naturally perfect. I have always been skeptical of the RAMIs though.

If it was brand new, even with the trigger job, it needs warming up. My RAMI 40s&w is a pleasure to shoot and with the extended 12 round mags a dream come true.

Anyone have a guess on a fair price for a 2001 CZ75B SA 40s&w in great condition? It comes with two mags, the box, papers and it has adjustable sights also. Nice guy, he is asking around $500.00. No round count. A new 75B SA 40 is $490.00 online +ship/transfer...

Perhaps I just got a bad pistol,, but this was my first experience with CZ and it was not pleasant. I certainly was not intending to trash all CZ products as I realize all manufacturers occasionally produce bad products. I was only describing my experience with the RAMI. I bought the gun because of its ergonomics, size, and capacity, but lost confidence in its reliability. I fired approximately 300 rounds of Hornaday, Remington, Federal, and Winchester JHP PD ammo and the gun failed to feed approximately 75% of the time. I also tried different mags, but nothing helped until I tried Speer Gold Dots. I just found the gun to be far too selective on ammo, something I have never experienced with any other weapon.

I have hear others that had issues with the RAMI specifically, but not with most of the other models. I wouldn't write them off yet.

I have a 9mm, which has been trouble free with assorted FMJ and JHP. There were some feeding issues with the early .40 RAMI pistols, which I believe were magazine related, but to my knowledge this issue has mostly been resolved. I see very few complaints about the .40 these days.

Sorry you had such issues with yours. My wife has the first RAMI to make it into AZ, and has had zero issues with it. The 40 version did have some problems, which I believe have been fixed.
I would hope you try one again sometime, such as the venerable PCR, the P01, or the new P07, but if you don't want to, thats OK, I feel the same way about HK after my hugely negative experiance with them. Is OK, plenty of differant firearms out there to choose from. I just choose CZ.
