No more ARs left for christmas

Thought I would go to my LGS yesterday just to see what kind of biz he is doing. My town is about 40 miles outside of Fort Worth, so I don't frequent him too much. Nice guy but prices are too high and he does not keep a lot of inventory but usually has a lot of ARs. Not anymore. His rack was empty of anything that remotely resembled an AR. He said a guy came by the day before and bought all of his AR mags and plans on selling them for $60 each at the Fort Worth Gun Show on December 29/30. This guy had been hitting all the LGSs he could find and cleaning them out of any AR mags they had. Usually I only pay 13$ or 14$ for a 30 round Pmag at the gun show. I don't know if selling them for $60 is a good idea. It could rub the wrong person the wrong way and.... you know... There are some nut jobs at every gun show.

There is a Ruger 5.56 on Gunbroker right now with a current bid of $2,525 and has had 15 bids. The starting bid was $1,600! Another one has a buy now price of $2,800 and it will probably sell. Insane!

I'm glad I never got bit by the AR bug. I have an AK and several cases of russian steel cased junk ammo. Actually, the panic buyers are doing us a favor. Lots of overtime coming up for the folks who make ARs. The companies will be hiring and more money will get injected into the economy.
