So, I've finally decided to stop putting off getting my ccw. I grew up in virginia and moved to missouri around 4 years ago. Before moving I took the virginia ccw class, but decided not to get the permit ( was moving so figured it would be a waste of money). I have been looking into getting my conceal carry in Missouri, but it cost $125 for the class and then an additional application fee. Missouri and Virginia reciprocate.

My question is: Would it be legal for me to carry in Missouri with only a virginia non-resident permit, or since I am a citizen of Missouri do I need a Missouri resident permit. I know the VA permit doesn't have as many reciprocal states, but I don't envision carrying anywhere other than Missouri and Virginia anyway in the near future. I also know to you guys in more restrictive states it seems like I'm whining about nothing having lived in 2 states that are very permissive as far as gun rights go, but I don't want to sit through another ccw class or pay the fees (mostly the fees), if I don't have to.

Missouri’s carrying concealed law recognizes all out-of-state permits, including
those from political subdivisions — cities and counties. Also, keep in
mind that Missouri’s peaceable journey law will apply to travelers, including
those who do not have a permit.

Out-of-state residents cannot obtain a Missouri concealed carry endorsement.
However, nothing prohibits Missouri residents from obtaining a concealed
carry permit from another state, and those permits would be valid in
Missouri.
