New to THR so excuse the question if it has already been answered...

I am interested in building a SBR (on a Form 1) utilizing the Nordic AR22 - anyone have any experience with this type of build? My plan is to use an Ace Ltd. M4 SOCOM stock and the DPMS Kitty-Kat 4-railed forend. I haven't ordered the AR22 yet so I'm not sure what barrel length is feasible using the short forend.

I originally planned to SBR mine but never got around to it.

You can probably cut the barrel as short as you want to go. I would recommend having it stick out a little bit from the fore-end, just for safety. (If running with can, Ok as long as can sticks out from tube.)

You bring up a good point Zack - it would be a good idea to have the muzzle protrude past the end of the forend. Most of the time it would wear a can so that will add several inches to the overall-length of the "barrel". I believe that the DPMS "Kitty" forend is only 4 1/2" in length so I guess barrel length would be in the neighborhood of 7"?
