Howdy

Lately, with all the 982 talk in that one thread, ive been thinking about getting one. The ONLY reason i want it is for some parts on it for my REAL 870. Like the ghost ring sights, and maybe the metal trigger gaurd, aswell as just having the gun for extra lil parts or w/e.... and just shootin around for fun. So would it be worth getting for just parts off of it? I thought so. The ghost rings alone off of it would seem worth it. Are they good sights on the norinco? steel? What about the trigger gaurd? I just want to know by the people who have it, if it'd be worth gettin just for the lil parts on it.

thanks!

Are you kidding. The Norinco is a improved version of the 870. Why would you want to put the parts on an Express.

Norinco 982 Advantages:

Smoother action right of the box than the Express

Excellent ghost ring sights - None offered on the Express

Machined extractor and ejector - MIM parts on the Express

Metal trigger guard - Plastic on the Express

Parkerized finish - rough blue on the Express

Better designed shell lifter on the Norinco than the one on the 870 shotguns

With a tube ext on 18.5" barrel 7+1 capacity - With tube ext on the Express with a 18" barrel 6+1

The tube extension is a stronger setup because it is shorter. No mag tube clamp is needed that will have to be removed each time you break down the shotgun.

Room to put a mount for a flashlight above the fore end on the shotgun mag tube - not so on the Express, it has to be mounted on the tube ext and remove each time you break the shotgun down, which is a pain.

so ive heard...But i also have heard on the other forum of parts breaking on them, and sights falling off and forends coming loose, and quality NOT being as good. Either way, id still be using my Rem.870 just because. I actually have had the gun for years and really want to see how long i can push the Rem. (call it a side project of mine) Id still shoot the Norincy, but not like my rem.

Anywayy.... so your saying it would be worth it? :D

ohh....btw thats perdy nice looking. haha

Another question. Ive heard the barrels dont interchange between the 982 and the real 870. is that true? is there any other parts that DO NOT interchange with the 870?

Sights fall off because screws loosen happens on all firearms. That is what loctite is for. Fore ends will loosen, tighten the fore end retaining nut. I have had mine for 4 years with no problems. You hardly ever see any used ones for sale. That is good sign, people keep guns they like. They have been in the USA for almost 10 years.

Marlin H&R thinks they are well made guns they put their name on the Pardner Pump which is made by Norinco and is basically the same gun.

As you can see the barrel locking lug is in a better location so 870 and 982 barrels will not interchange. I don't know about other parts you will have to try them.

It sounds like you are trying to make your Remington 870 Express a Norinco 982. Remington should have made the Express as well as the Norinco.
