I bought an SKS with all matching numbers recently and just got around to shooting it today. All I can say is

:what: I'M IN LOVE! :what:

This beauty was dead on and the recoil was the sweetest I have ever felt. As for reliability, It would fire as fast as I could pulled the trigger and I was able to stay on target while doing so. I was shooting at bowling pins from 50 yards while standing. I have heard from others that the trigger pull sucks on these guns but I beg to differ! The trigger pull is nice and crisp. I already told the wife I will not let her shoot it because she will steal it from me just like she did my Beretta 92FS.

For those of you looking at AR's or others and getting ready to dump close to a grand on a plinking rifle GET AN SKS ASAP! You will not be disappointed my friend. Not one bit.

:D I have found my SHTF rifle and it's name is SKS! :D

Anybody selling one? My rilfe needs a mate. ;)

Now you have something else to bring to the next PA gathering.:D

Never underestimate a man who knows how to use an SKS.

I had two Russian SKS rifles, but sold one off. All I need is one.

Buy lots of stripper clips. My SKS is my #1 SD rifle when I go up the mountains.

Soda......

I also picked up 2 Mosin Nagant 91/30's for me and the boy. It is a beautiful rifle with all matching numbers also. I have to go down to Buckeye and do some filing down of the front sight at 100 yards. It is very accurate with Wolf 200gr ammo. Have any stripper clips you want to sell for the SKS?

(Next Jersey Shoot will be on Saturday, September 6th) Just an FYI........

Hey guys, I'm in SE PA, where do you guys shoot at?

As for SKS's for sale, Donleys gun shop in Dublin PA has a nice Yugo right now as well as an AK and Several non numbers matching Chinese that are in pieces and need to be assembled that are for sale.
I have 460 rnds of steel core factory load on stripper clips that I would like to part with. I have been told that it's considered "match grade" if that matters.

The PA shoots are held at Water & Wings somewhere in God's country. SodaPop could tell you. We shoot Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun there. In New Jersey we shoot at my "cabin in the pines" the Buckeye Gun Club right off of Rt.72E heading to Long Beach Island. There we shoot Pistol and Shotgun. How much for the ammo?

Ray- you can get stripper clips dirt cheap at PA Gunshows or try www.sksman.com for toys for your gun. Stay away from the scope mounts. Most of them aren't worth squat. I had the fixed mag spring go bad on me and ordered a new one from www.sksman.com years ago. He's got a ton of toys for your SKS.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I have a ton of stuff laying around (brushes, sight in tools, scope mounts) that I could give/lend you if you want them. I have my SKS sighted in at 200yds and hav a ball trying to hit stuff out to 400yds. Its a challenge but it can be done.

Sodapop, I agree, my Chinese SKS is relatively accurate, way out there too!I found that the sight graduations are fairly accurate out to 300 yds, also, with Wolf ammo.

SodaPop or others............

The Mount set up for this SKS is off on the left hand side of the reciever. It was on the rifle when I bought it. It looks like a weaver rail just mounted sideways. Any info on it?

I've heard of Water & Wings, I think it's out near Pennsburg but I'm not sure.
As for the ammo, I was told normal price is $0.25 per rnd for what I have on stripper clips. If this is true then it's worth $144.00 but I'll take $120.00 for it. Bear in mind that I'm basing my info soley on what I've been able to find out on various message boards and not trying to "screw" anyone so if you believe that's too high feel free to make me an offer.

Ray: Regarding the trigger pull, most SKS's that I've handled have had very poor trigger pulls. I own two Norinco SKS's and one has a sweet trigger pull, like yours, and the other has the worst trigger I have ever felt on any rifle!! (when friends shoot it, they laugh! ). It's luck-of-the-draw and you won! Good shootin'!
