Simple question that I imagine will get a couple different answers, but what was the typical price for a 50 round box of .40 s&w target ammo, before the recent unpleasantness?

For unrelated reasons I sold my 9mm and bought a Glock 23, and am not sure what the "regular" price of the ammo should be. I've been finding 50 round boxes for about $22-23.

Also, anyone know what the .40 remington golden sabers were going for? 50 round boxes of those are selling for $40.

Cheap steel case stuff like tula was about $14 a box, brass $17 or 18 for run of the mill target ammo

as for the golden sabers? most sd ammo goes for a buck a round so Id say a 50 box of sabers is a deal for $40.

You could get Blazer Brass for $13.50 last summer from PSA. Walmart also had Federal Champion 100 round boxes for $28 last summer, but I'm not sure if it has gone up since then or not. 50 round boxes were more. I'm thinking like $17 at Walmart, but I can't remember for sure since I don't buy it and was just looking at.

At my Wal-Mart in southeast Wyoming it was about $12-15 for a box of Winchester White Box or Federal Champion. .40 is a very popular round in my neck of the woods and has been nearly as hard to find as 9x19.

For over a year I was buying Winchester White Box 100rds for $24 at Walmart. That was the best deal I ever found... but $15-$20 for 50 was more normal.

EDIT: Actually, I could be thinking about the Federal 100-round boxes... don't remember for sure.

Thanks for responses everyone. Sounds like my finds are not great, but perhaps as good as can be expected considering.

I found PMC at Gouger Mountain for a respectable $19.99 per 50. Plenty of boxes of it. Not a fantastic deal, but good enough.

$12 for WInchester White Box.

Before the 08 panic, I was paying under $10 for the 100 rd9mm value pack, (WWB) and $5.50 per 50 .38 Special factory reloads.
