I brought my newly scoped SIG out today to sight in the 1.25-4x Trijicon Accupoint that I just mounted. The tightest groups i was able to shoot, using Prvi Partisan 5.56 and Federal .223 ammo, was about a 3" group at 100 yards, off of sandbags. :cuss: I don't think the problem is with me-- I was shooting 3/4" groups with my Remington 700 just before the SIG, so I ask my fellow 556 shooters.... how accurate can I expect to be with this weapon?

Well i don't have the sig but i do have a very accurate ar. However, i can't shoot it as good as bolt actions and i don't know why. when everything is right it shoots great, but if there is any slight flaw in form groups grow drastically. maybe this helps. Try wedging the gun out of a vehicle window between the rear view mirror and a rolled up towel or wadded jacket. then set back hard on the back of the window and completely brace yourself up. This really helps! good luck

Remember semi autos have lots of parts moving around when you fire. Bolts only cycle when you want them too and this is long after the round hits target.

Bolt guns are generally more accurate, easier to make accurate and easier to shoot accurately in my experience. This does not mean there are not fantastically accurate semi autos.

One more thing, remember that Prvi ammo is, AFAIK, basic range fodder / military type ammo so take that into consideration as well. The difference in accuracy in one of my AK's between Wolf and good quality American ammo is drastic.
