Nosler 55gr. E-tip

Is anyone reloading the Nosler 55gr. E-tip for 223 - 5.56? I can't find any load data for it short of buying the Nosler manual for this one bullet or using Barnes or Hornady load data.

I've taken a look at it. They don't include the E-tip in that data though it may be the same.

Do you have any stores that sell reloading supplies? My cabelas and a private chain leave manuals out that customers can look thru. This way you can check the nosler book and not actually buy it.

They have loads for cup and core 55, Barnes tsx, and the sinterfire bullet. Should be able to make something work.

I use Nosler 55gr Varmegeddon in .223. It's not a lot different from my other .223 loads I use. Use another 55gr recipe, start low and work up. Be careful.

Etips are noslers monolithic expanding bullet, like the Barnes, or hornady gmx, I wasn't aware of a 55 etip for 22 yet, but it's kind of exciting for folks that have a use for em.

Etip bullets are an expanding copper alloy bullet, Nosler advertises them to have wider cavity than the competition for better expansion.

Not quite, the controlled chaos is kind of a hybrid between a true frangible and the Barnes/etip/gmx lines, it's more solid than the sinterfire frangible but still designed to fragment and reduce the chances of exiting where the other 3 lineups are meant to penetrate and exit almost no matter what is hit.

E tip is the bullet that all of Cali will have to use for hunting in 2019 no lead for condors to eat . Its a good ideal to look up the load as I believe the pressure will be higher with the E tip.

The E-tip is longer than a lead core 55gr. from Nosler so it will take up more case capacity and build higher pressures. I'll just have to start low and work my way up. We'll see how it goes.

I'd use data for the Barnes 55 gr, you can find data from hodgdon and alliant and accurate online for free for the Barnes bullet, Nosler just says uses standard data BUT be cautious going above midrange loads due to pressure differences. I know that with some powders, I can DEFINITELY get closer to Max without any danger signs in other chamberings (I like the etips for yotes outta my .243) but I'm NOT suggesting that's where you should start, as you said, start low and be careful.

Nosler E Tip is solid copper alloy, they also make a Lead free sintered copper bullet in .224" 35,40 and 50 gr.
