My friend who owns a gun shop found 4 boxes of Nosler Match 6mm 70 grain bullets (100 count) behind the safe of his shop. The guy who owned the business before my friend opened up in 1962 so there is no telling how long the bullets were back there. He let me have all 4 boxes for $25 out the door.
The boxes are red, white, and black cardboard. There is no bar code on them. The printing on them says "100 SOLID BASE BULLETS" and across the bottom of the front label it says "6MM Cal (.243)-70 Grain HOLLOW-PT." The end flap has the number 28469. The back of the box is marked"Manufactered by NOSLER BULLETS,INC Affiliate of Leupold & Stevens,Inc. Beaverton, Oregon U.S.A."
I would like to shoot these bullets but I don't have any reloading data for them and Noslers webpage doesn't mention them. Anybody out there have an older Nosler reloading manual? I would appreciate any info you could give me.
Thanks.

Larry,
What gun/cartridge do you want to shoot them in? I have a Nosler Manual #2 which lists several loads with IMR powders for this bullet with .243 Win, .244/6mm Rem, and .240 Weatherby Mag. The ballistic coefficient = .257 and sectional density = .169.

Good shooting and be safe.

LHB1, I'm going to shoot them in a Ruger 77 in .243 Win. Thanks.

Larry,
Nosler Manual #2 shows following loads for the 70 grain .243 HP BT Match Solid Base bullet:
Test gun: Sako, 24" barrel, 1-10 twist, Rem cases, Rem 9.5 primer:

IMR 4350 max 47.0 vel 3612
start 43.0 vel 3253

IMR 4831 max 50.0 vel 3516
start 46.0 vel 3266

IMR 4895 max 41.5 vel 3495
start 37.5 vel 3178

IMR 4064 max 41.5 vel 3489
start 37.5 vel 3171

IMR 3031 max 40.0 vel 3470
start 36.0 vel 3146

I ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE LOADS.

Good shooting and be safe.

LHB1, I cross checked your data with my Speer Reloading Manual #12. The data you provided seems to be very close to the load tables for Speer's 70 grain 6mm TNT-HP.(I know different companies bullets give different pressure curves and velocities.) For example, Speers starting load for IMR-4350 is 43.0 grains, velocity 3067. Speer's starting load for IMR-4831 is 45.0 grains at 3090 fps. Velocity for Speer's data is probably a little slower because they used a 22" barrel while Nosler used a 24" barrel. I beleive the data you provided will be safe. Thanks.

Larry,
A very wise precaution! I remember shooting some of the Nosler Match bullets in my Ruger #1 6mm rifle.

Good shooting and be safe.
