Not too enthused with my Del-Ton carbine

And no, it has nothing to do with it being a Del-Ton. I'm just not enthused with an iron-sighted M4gery. I LOVE the scoped AR I built, so its not even a platform issue. I've about decided that I like my SKS better when it comes to an iron sight carbine.

I agree, would much rather have a rifle length AR for iron sights. My Garand spoils me.

I guess it depends on your eyes, but for these old eyeballs, the AK/SKS rear notch just doesn't work. The "peep" on a 16" AR is way better, but for the same OAL of the rifle the "dissipater" configuration is better still.

No, I love peep sights. The AR's sights are far superior to the SKS's. It's just not as fun to shoot.
