I have owned a few shotguns but I can say wuthout a doubt, having a double barrel with a poorly fitting stock is the paramount of frustration!
I had a Savage sxS that drove me nuts1 I always seemed to get lined up on the barrel and not the sighting rib and always blew the shot! I couldnt even get near finding the proper lead to follow!
Last spring I bought a 20 ga Stoger Uplander withthe intentions of chopping it and making aHD gun out of it.
Before cutting, I just had to try a 20 ga out since I'd never shot one...
WOW! I suddenly was able to line-up on the bead and started hitting everything I tried for1 It had to be that stock!
Well the gun was in like new condition and since it shot so well I couldnt get a hacksaw near it! I decided to keep ir stock and finally enjoy shooting and hitting with a double!
Proper stock fit is the sectet. It can make you love or hate a shotgun! Glad I finally found one for me!

Fit is the most important thing on a shotgun. I had to giggle a little bit when I read what kind of gun it was, since most people find the Stoeger stocks to be really uncomfortable.

Fit is crucial on a SxS, but it is not an "aiming rib" the rib is there to add structural rigidity to the barrels. When pointing your shotgun at your target, focus on the target, not the rib or the sight. If you see rib in your peripheral vision, you'll be shooting high.
