I saw this on the Brady Campaign facebook page:

Lee Enfield Please help support the Coalition to Prevent Assault Weapon Violence and the important work they do!
Assault Weapons
assaultweaponwatch.com

And, so far, two of the Brady Bunch have voted their support!

So.....

I present to you, for your viewing pleasure, the Coalition to Prevent Assault Weapon Violence:

http://assaultweaponwatch.com/

(I know it is over 5 years old. I don't care. It's still funny!)

Well, it has been rare and expensive, ever since it looked like Obama was going to be President! :neener:

beware its trying to make you complacent dont let its inactivity foll you its only planning the "big attack"

LOL-Maybe we should start a bunch of satiric fake anti gun movements-might divert some money from their movement into our gun & ammunition procurement funds.

And then there is this conversation on the Brady Campaign Facebook page under the posting by "Lee Enfield" about assaultweaponwatch:

Mike Summitt: So I went to this link looking for a definition of "assault weapon". Can take a bayonette, has a flash hider. Nothing about caliber, muzzle velocity, magazine size, effective range, fire rate (they're not automatic, but someone could keep pumping the trigger), or special ammo. So other than just looks, what makes it an assault weapon?

Mike Summitt: Isn't AR-15 the one with parts from Mattel Toy Company? The one that falls apart when you slap it and jams on every 20th round?

Nicholas Lebel: Mike, It is the Brady Campaign that defined the AR-15 as an assault weapon. I like your question, "So other than just looks, what makes it an assault weapon?" Maybe you should tell us?

Mike Summitt: I was asking - I don't know. It doesn't seem to relate to caliber or muzzle velocity, both are higher in other weapons. It's not fire rate, they aren't full automatic. I haven't seen a definition anywhere.

Nicholas Lebel: I don't know either, Mike. But the Brady Campaign says it is an assault rifle, isn't that good enough?

I can neither confirm nor deny who this Nicholas Lebel guy is, but he sure is a handsome feller!

Does anybody have a link to that drawing of an "assault rifle" that has such things labeled as high capacity magazine enabling an unlimited supply of ammo, and something like "this thingy here... I don't know what it does, but it looks evil" ?
