Has anyone ever used the NRA Armscare insurance for stolen guns? What was the process like and did things go smoothly?

There's a chance that I'll have to make a claim soon. :(

I did in 1994. The downside for me, my fault entirely, was that I did not realize the $10,000 coverage was for accidental loss or damage. the theft coverage topped out at $1,000. This was before my renter's insurance policy :(

HOWEVER, the service from the NRA insur. provider was excellent. I remember filling out a single form and submitting it with a copy of the police report. Couple weeks later, check in hand.

Like snorko, all I had to do was provide a form and a copy of the police report and I got a check too.

Interesting thing about police reports ... shows all the detective's notes and stuff too. Needless to say I'm pretty peeved at the CSPD (and the detective in particular) who seemed more interested in investigating ME for "filing a false report" of the theft then in actually catching the thief (I think the detective was more interested in impressing one of the female suspects than doing his job).

I recommend that whenever you use the services of the police, you get a copy of the report.
