You are probably right about that. The Republicans will probably hold the Senate this year. The question is what will happen after that. The Democrats have no plan, but I am not sure the Republicans are going to be smart enough to figure out why they lost the House.

I am very worried we might see a Democratic House, Senate, and President in 2008.

If you want to know which states to watch to decide for yourself, the key states are Missouri, Tennessee, and Virginia. All three are polling toward the GOP right now. The Democrats have to win two of them along with all the other states that are leaning their way.

My thoughts, exactly.

The only "plans" I've heard from the Dem leadership:

1. Iraq isn't the war on terror. Only Afghanistan is. (Pelosi last week) Defunding Iraq. What that means, I'm not sure, but it sounds to me like they want to sabotage the Iraq War, not win it.
2. We must end the tax cuts for the "rich", and bring back the death tax. As Federal revenues are way up, personal income is up, and the economy is doing well, this is potentially very destructive. That goes beyond my personal beliefs that taxes should be lowered as much as possible.
3. We must make SURE Social Security is not reformed.
4. We need medicine to become the new welfare system.
5. Gun bans.

After Bush's recent comments that he isnt satisfied with the Iraq War, I wonder what, if anything, he plans to do after the election? I also wonder why he thinks expressing his lack of satisfaction will help the Republicans next month. I think he would just have been better off not to mention the War there. We invaded Iraq in March of 2003, 43 months ago. From the time we declared war on Nazi Germany, until V-E Day was 41 months. Its hard to believe we have been fighting piss ant terrorists in Iraq longer than the Nazi army.

Now he admits dis-satisfaction a few days before the election. What is that supposed to mean? If we stay the course, as he as asked us to do so many times, nothing there will change. Is he going to slip some big change in strategy on us immediately following the election?

Unless he has some big plan that revitalizes our occupation there, we might as well let the Democrats defund the war and end it. What we are doing now doesnt seem to be working.

I can see how we are still fighting terroist longer than it took to beat the nazis. Because, wwII was the last time the world really saw the military might of the great USA. If we tell them to stop all attacks by Oct. 31 and if you dont, we will fire bomb every city and village until you do. Either way the problem would be over by Thanksgiving. Thats how it was back then. Its hard to win fast and be super cautious. Its also hard to get it done when your trying to make the rest of the world like you. We have to stop caring what the french and other countries think.

I don't understand it either!

"If we tell them to stop all attacks by Oct. 31 and if you dont, we will fire bomb every city and village until you do. Either way the problem would be over by Thanksgiving. Thats how it was back then."

I always thought you entered into a war to WIN......not to fight just to be fighting.
I have never understood those that worry what some other country thinks, and why some people in the US want to do things like all the other countries do. If we are sooo bad, why is it that everyone wants to come here???
Democrat or not, at least old Harry T had balls enough to drop the big one and not look back.

As someone who actually has a small hand in whether Santorum makes another term or not, Im a little perturbed over comment he made about my end of the state. He was in his western section of Pa making snide comments about the opposing side being from Scranton. I'm from Scranton and he needs my vote. I'm a die hard Rep., but I'm not adverse to seeing the guy twist in the wind. The only problem is that the other guy is an idiot. Santorum has got a long way to go. I don't think he is going to make it.

Hey Kid, at least you're not from Hazelton:neener:

As a relatively new (5 year) resident of the great commonwealth of Pennsyltucky I can clearly say-

Thank God I don't live in MD
Thank God I don't live in NJ
Casey may be an idiot, but Santorum is an embarassment! Good riddance!

I am through with them though until they change their ways and get back to the principals of small government, limited bureaucracy, less invasive government, fiscal conservatism, and get real on national defense.

I'm with Lone_Gunman on this. The current batch of fear mongering, bible thumping, money wasting, civil liberty encroaching idiots deserve to be tossed to the curb. MAYBE that would be a gentle wake up.

And then we can bitch about Pelosi for a couple years:banghead:
