I actually appreciate that regimentation. I have only taken one NRA course - Basic Handgun. The instructor was properly certified. I think maybe he was a bit low on experience, though. When he stuck to the syllabus, things went pretty well. However, whenever he added his own commentary, he had a bad habit of giving the class inaccurate information. He told us about bullets rising as they move away from the barrel - a myth specifically addressed as such in the textbook. He also gave us bad information about Virginia concealed carry laws (he claimed it was OK to CC in a place serving alcohol, as long as the CC individual was not imbibing... BUZZ! wrong.)
