Under what conditions can I use my K31 in a NRA highpower competition?
I have read the NRA rules and it seems about as clear as mud.
Match rife reads to me can be any rifle, iron sights. But it lists match rifle foreign nations as a different thing which has limitations. I know guys do use foreign guns but whats the scoop? I have best access to NRA shoots and the CMP sponsored Vintage series doesnt crop up too often close by.
Do I just show up and enter as match rifle with my k31 at an NRA event?
Also I think I read somewhere, but cannot find it again, that match rifle scores do not count towards your classification. True?
Thanks.

Your rifle qualifies as a Foreign service rifle under paragraph 3.1.4. You may use it to compete as a match rifle. I believe para 3.3.2 refers to Palma rifles.
Your match rifle scores do count toward your NRA classification.

I recently saw on the cmp website a category regarding foreign military rifles, or really old service rifles like the enfields. I'm sure you qualify for that.

I don't see any of these matches locally and it drives me nuts. I know a lot of guys with old milsurps that don't have AR's or Match rifles that would show up to compete just for fun. If there were any local, I'd use my M48.

There is 1 match I shot with it but it's only once per year in April.

You can use it for high power matches, but not service rifle. High power is where you see all the exotic rifles like the Tubb 2000 and oddball calibres. Service rifle is AR-15, M1a/M14, or Garand. The CMP has it's own matches and vintage rifle is one of them and the K31 and Swede dominate. While your K31 may not be legal in service rifle matches, most places will let you shoot in them, but your score will not count. Make sure to bring your charger or spare magazine for the rapids!
