This is simply a posting of information. Everyone has pretty well taken their sides for or against the NRA as it pertains to H.R. 5175 in this post:

I'm simply posting the NRA's response to the misinformation that has been printed about them. It is not my intention to start a pro vs anti NRA battle (see the link above if you want to know how that ended). [EDIT:] I should have also said not to start an NRA vs GOA vs other argument either. It's been done to death as well [/EDIT]

In chronological order (the last two are the most recent responses):

"as written", and "in it's current form", and last but not least "As noted above, there is no legitimate reason to include the NRA in H.R. 5175's overly burdensome disclosure and reporting requirements"

The arrangement crafted specified "over a million members" and "members in every state" and other stuff that would exempt ONLY the NRA.

That's a LOT of qualifications, don't you think? And what's with specifying the NRA...the implication is (and watch carefully what happened next) that anyone else, i.e. GOA etc. is fine, just not the NRA. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a member of NRA, support them in many ways, but just be sure to read EVERY word of these letters.

That makes sense to me.

If anyone wants to debate and disagree with Chris and the NRA what they say in their letters, you'd want to direct your responses to the Association HQ, rather than posting them here.
