I've been meaning to post some 5 shot groups from my NRA Mini 14 for a while now, but to be honest the Ruger hasn't been out of the safe much since I bought my Bushmaster. The little rubber rifle finally got to see some range time yesterday though, I took her with me to sight in my LTR in preparation for this weekend's Appleseed shoot. Here's a quick and dirty range report.
All 4 groups were shot off hand from a seated position at a distance of 100 yards. Total time of about 6 minutes with groups 2 and 3 shot in rapid succession. Group 1 should say “cold barrel” (as shaky as I am with a rifle, I'm not much better with a Sharpie) The spread on group 4 is mostly my fault, I gotta believe a better marksman could improve on these results.
The rifle is certainly not a tack driver but it's not half as bad as so many around here think a Mini is.
EDIT to clarify: Off hand may not be the right term, I was shooting with my elbows on a bench, but with no bench rest.
