Selfishness is primary focus of all these Corporation. The concentration of wealth, the concentration of power, has only increased since the great Recession. The small pittance that shooters and reloaders add to the over all GDP, is not enough to influence policy.
What has kept our guns in our hands is our Votes!

"Evade gov't control . . . " You say that like it's a bad thing.. . . . They related some of reloading to an anarchist lifestyle and an effort to evade gov't. control. . . . .
This definitely bears repeating. Again. And again. And again . . .All I can say is make damn sure you vote, not just in the midterms but in every election and check out the candidates. Also, since this is a political war, make sure that you and yours all have carry permits. Not to carry necessarily but as a statement. Same thing with hunting licenses. Get one.
No, not even a little. There is a serious effort afoot in the UK to alter kitchen knives to not be dangerous. You can own a dozen guns in Cali and have a carry permit and there is still a waiting period.Much to do about nuttin'............
"Mabel, did you know that there are nuts that shoot a gun 1000 TIMES A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!"On the plus side, the article does acknowledge that competitive shooters often run through 1,000/month or more. Maybe they can remember that the next time Gov. Cuomo asks why anyone would need more ammo than their gun could hold.
Re: the story about the English couple. There are a LOT of snowflakes in the U. K.!!Repetition is the key to selling something, a product, an idea.
The Times repeats repeats and repeats. You see it with their treatment of Trump (not political on my part, an observation) and with immigration and with gun issues. Always the same concepts repeated.
And what it is is not simply preaching to their, converted, audience. It is a way to normalize the concept. Where the hell did the idea of "Assault Weapons" come from? It was a pre-meme meme that was made a thing thru organized repetition.
The bottom line, the objective, is the demonization of all gun owners, probably even all weapons collectors --- knives too.
This is an oldie and you may have read it but look and learn what the end point of social engineering is. Yeah, it could happen here.

Here in MA, BP arms are not regulated. However, you will need an FID or LTC to purchase black powder, primers, percussion caps, lead shot, muzzle loading bullets and lead round balls.I will say I like that my black powder arms are not registered! Though I aften wonder when black powder and caps will become regulated.
