JUMBO KING's Little White Lies
After re-reading the "President's Message" in the March 2007 edition of NYSRPA's The Bullet, I had a good laugh regarding the illusion of Mr. King's high principles. His statements of grandeur regarding how others should act brought back some thoughts.
Some of Mr. King's Kum-Ba-Yah wisdom for others was:
"I do care when you call me a bastard. That takes the argument to a personal level where it should not be."
"...rather than attempt to prove me wrong you chose to attack me and call me names."
"Rather than do something to bring sense to the situation, people chose to attack me for taking a stand. They continued the attack after the listing was removed. Removed because I thought the point was made not because of the many attacks."
"I may be many things but I'm not a bastard and you owe me an apology."
Mr. King creates a grand public front yet allows others to run unleashed, doing some of the dirty work he supposedly hates in others.
Cases in point...
Jacob J. Rieper, Legislative Director, made the following statements:
"NYSCC continues to lie and promote Schumer & Spitzer to the gun owners and sportsmen in this state as their best friends. If you want to believe Palmer's lies, go right ahead. We're not about to compromise principle to satisfy people like you. If you don't like it, call Brenda and cancel your membership."
and
"What they have done for the last 5 years is recycle our legislative reports and alerts to SCOPE members as their own work. They bring nothing to the table."
This forum, and others like it, have record of these statements yet is appears that Mr. King need not apologize to anyone for his actions nor the actions of his henchmen. I feel this irony speaks of Mr. King's true purpose and principles: it is acceptable to disparage the name of others and to misrepresent their intentions. Apparently your wisdom above is rather self-righteous: the rules do not apply to the KING.
You are no Moses uniting the masses in New York.
Sincerely,
Rose
