OAL data for Dardas Bullets?

I am starting out with my 230 gr LRN for 45ACP and 124 gr LRN for 9mm from Dardas Cast Bullets.

What OAL should I be using in these calibers? And what OAL should I be using for the 230gr bullets in a Starline 45 Auto Rim case? The Hornady manual lists 1.245 for their 230 gr LRN, for example.

Also, I plan on using Bullseye for these loads, so any suggestions for pet load with these particular bullets would be appreciated as well.

.45 ACP OAL with a GI profile 230 FMJ-RN is 1.266" - 1.271"., so the Hornady 1.265" is right in the ball park.

Lyman #49 shows a 120 LRN 9mm load at 1.065" OAL.

I'd try:
4.5 Bullseye in the .45 ACP.
4.0 in the 9mm.

I'd also suggest you buy a Lyman #49 manual if you are going to shoot cast bullets.

Thanks for the info. I have an older lyman manual, and it doesn't list common sizes. For example, it had the 225 gr LRN but not a 230 gr. I think it is the 47th from 1992 (from a friend who got me interested in reloading)

Does the latest manual cover the more common bullet weights these days (115, 124, 180, 230 for example)?

I guess I will make up my first batch of 45 and try to get to the range soon!

That is a 230 after you put the bullet lube grease on it.

You don't need to be that close anyway with cast lead bullets.
It is the size, shape & number of grease grooves & driving bands (Bearing surface) that matter.

A cast bullet could easily vary +/- 5 grains or more depending on the alloy used to cast it. Then you add the lube which increases the weight more.

Lyman lists the "as cast" bullet weight & the alloy used, either #2 alloy, or Linotype.
Sized & lubed, they will weigh more, depending on how much lube they will hold.
