Mr. 'Possum ain't the sharpest bowling ball on the rack, but he is a survivor.
We caught many as kids, we would run them down after stopping the car, take off your Tshirt or jacket and toss it over his head, then grab him by the tail an slap the snot out of him, they go into the play dead thing, which is really a short circut of his two brains,one that runs his boiler room(breathing,heart, vital functions) that one stays on line, and the reasoning part goes in to shock from the input(dog shaking him violently etc) .
Then we would bag him up and put him on a porch, ring the doorbell, and run hide in the bushes and watch the fun.
Possums are cool!
