This is crazy, but I would like to take a small bolt actioned rifle and rebarrel it to 38/357. Are there any actions that I could use without extensive bolt head and extractor modifications?
Thanks,
CHAZ

The 38 Special and 357 magnum are rimmed cases. So the extractor and feed would be best in a rifle with the bolt face and extractor already set up for a rimmed case.

Fortunately for you, the rim on the 38 Special / 357 magnum is pretty much the same as the 30-30 Winchester.

And at one time there were various bolt actions chambers for the 30-30. Most which can now be had for a good price.

Savage "Model 340 I think" and Stevens " Model 325a or something like that" used to make them.
They were nice and light. When I was a kid my buddy had one that he used to shoot moose.

Converted with a new barrel to 357 / 38Spec it would be very quite with some other mods.
