Been on a DA/SA kick for a while. Especially with learning how to work on, polish and swap out internals on Sigs. This year has provided a P229 Legion, P220 Match Elite 10mm, Beretta 92x compact. Now it was time for a P226. I went back and forth between a MK 25 and Legion.

I already have a Legion P229 and like the way it fits my hand with the undercut and how the grip helps me not ride the slide lock. I shoot it well. I don't particularly care for the finish. The MK 25 being Nitron was looking like what would fit the bill. Only thing is the grip does not fit me as well. It would require more than swapping grips and machining the undercut, following a refinish. Not what I wanted dive off into.

I present the Legion LE Black. Nitron slide, anodized frame, and no legion markings anywhere on the gun! This thing tics all the boxes. Legion grip, optic ready. And is $75ish cheaper the cerakote gray legion. I didn't know this thing existed but now it's mine. Only thing now is there is P229 and P226 LE black legions in SAO causing my wallet to start heating up.

Just thought it was cool and wanted to share.

I have a number of Sig P22X guns. After seeing that. I’m embarrassed to even post my P226…

But…it’s got…character.
At least it still has a factory finish on the slide.

I wish old SIG’s came with Nitron slides, those LE Legion guns look great. :)

My former 1990-era West German P-226 finish rubbed off in a duty holster so fast it was embarrassing. It got so bad after about 14 months it went to Robar for Np3, which kept it looking sharp for many years after that. (It was traded away about 20 years ago.)

My later, but still German, P-228 finish lasted a bit longer. It shows obvious holster wear from the sides and snap of the holster after about three years in a duty rig.

OP, very nice find .

Stay safe.

If I had known that version of the Legion existed I may have bought one instead of the P226 Elite I ended up with. Especially with it being optic ready. I ended up ordering an optic slide with Romeo 1 Pro 6MOA. Not long ago went to a 3MOA. Only gripe I have with the P226 Elite is the creepy mushy trigger in SA and the gritty feel in the start of the DA pull. But the pistol shoots well despite this , will probably have an action job performed. Still my all time favorite full size 9mm!

Guts were replaced with Armory Craft trigger, hammer, sear spring and mainspring. Also threw in a super strut. Polished some contact points on the trigger bar. Left the SRT intact.

Zero take-up and zero over travel, nice and smooth. I don't have a trigger gauge, and my finger calibration is expired, so my rough estimate is about 20(ish)% lighter and a helluva lot cleaner.

That is amazing! I want a p226 Legion, but don't like the pvd grey finish and the silly Legion marking.... now if we can just get rid of the ridiculous front serrations, it would be perfect!

BTW, do you know if it can be had with out the optics cut?

No idea on the optic cut. Mine did come with a smooth, unmarked plate vs all the pics I've seen of the LE models show the plate legion marked with 2 "humps" around the screw heads.

The city police here just traded in 5 nice P226's.They bought P320's in 9MM for the officers at the LGS and they called some of their preferred customers before they put them in the used gun display case. They were shot enough to be broke in,but are certainly not worn out.My shooting buddy and mentor got first dibs and he wound up with a P226 with Crimson Trace Laser grips for a steal.I got to choose second and I picked the one with the best trigger out of the 4 that were left, and I love it!They're chambered in 40 S&W and the 226 in 40 is a sweet pistol to shoot. It's my third 40,and the other two I have are a good bit smaller and lighter and they're pretty rowdy with my stout handloads with 180 grain XTP's,but the 226 is like shooting a 9.We put them to work on the 25,60 and 100 yard steel plates this past Sunday, and I'm very pleased at how well I could shoot it.I'm not much of a pistol shooter, but I was able to keep it on the 16 inch steel plate at 100 yards almost all the time. All the steel targets we shoot at my home range are shot offhand, and I think I can do as well with the 226 as I can with some of my other pistols. It's my second DA-SA in 40 and I like that manual of arms.I now have a new carry with me everywhere I go gun. It's a little heavy, but a good belt and holster make it comfortable enough to wear all day.

I've been into the P-series Legion LE's for a while now. Mine were purchased within the last three years and come optic ready. My P226 Legion LE SAO is one of my favorites. As a side note a new P226 Elite now comes with the same frame as the Legion LE except for the grips. The main differences are on the slide. A new Legion LE comes with x-ray 3 sights and is optic ready. The Elite has night sights and is not optic ready. All three of my Legion LE's came from Norman Armory LLC via Gunbroker

That's where I got this one. If I wasn't buying a truck in the next 2 weeks, a sao would be en route.

Kinda feeling a p226 SAO with one of the Armory Craft comps.
