How many do you generally buy/keep per Autoloading pistol?

I'm in the 5-7 per...range.

The least is 2(CZ-52), the most is 20+ (Glocks) If I have less than 10 it's just a range gun. Worst offender is the AR, 45 mags and counting...

I generally try for 10 or more if I am going to shoot that auto-loader a lot. I have range mags and I have serious use mags. Use the latter enough to know they will work. I go down to 5 for those which are expensive OR which I don't shoot all that much.

In short, it varies with the usage.

I always try to keep four, at least. That many is enough to shoot any IDPA stage and is one more than you would likely carry.

More is better, up to a point, but fewer and you're cutting your options.

re: Navy joe

Yeah,

My CZ-52 is the least with 3...same as the BDA-380...others are 5 or more...if we were counting rifles, my AK mag's would drive the average up somewhat (stopped counting at 30).

I'd say I average about 6 mags per gun, some as many as 10 and some as few as 4. ....Whit

My goal is 6 standard cap (high cap) per handgun.

Currently I have only achieved that goal for my Beretta 92 and Ruger P95.
:(

Gotta finish up buying them just in case they sneak in a new AW ban :cuss:

Ruger Full-Capacity for P95?

Do you have an online source for those?

I also have a P95 as well as PC9.

Thanks in advance, and safe shooting,

I have a minimum of three, but if it's a service gun, I want about seven. For instance, for the Sig P220 I have 5 used one (used because I have been using them) and 4 new in wrapper from the factory. For the Hi-Power I must have at least a dozen. For the 1911s, I may have about 3 per gun right now, but I don't keep track of the 1911s or the magazines. For the CZ-75, all I have is three; but I've got about 6 for the Kadet conversion kit.

Gun/Mag Ratio

My ratio is about 3:1 magazines to pistols...but I've got 33 1911's
from 90 years old to close to NIB...two-thirds are GI pistols of
various make...and about one fourth of the magazines are GI...
The result of a lotta years of obsessive/compulsive behavior
when I get within sniffin' distance of a 1911...:uhoh:

Welp...Gotta run...The UPS man delivered another shipment of
Metalforms this afternoon and I gotta open'em up!

CHEEEEERS!

Min. 6 for standard cap. gun, 4 for a high cap. Prefer 2 more for either. I

like 2 full carry sets plus 2 back ups per gun. That way I can rotate the

mags plus have a couple of spares. If I still kept a 1911 as a house gun I

would add 2 ea 10 rounders. But as with money and range time: more is

better!

CZ52GUY,

I bought the USA mags, (from CDNN) then got Ruger followers and P89 springs for Wolff. (they don't list P95 mag springs)

I have about $35 +/- in each mag and they have been 100% reliable.

Not exactly factory but they work

Whatever came with the gun plus at least six more. I always assume one or two will go south on me during the life of the gun.
Even though that does not actually seem to be the case. :)

I guess as a minimum, 2 since that is how many most come with when purchase. Most of mine have 5 w/ a few having 10+

I would like to have 5+ mags for each gun. I have more like an average of 4 per gun. I am of the opinion that you can never have enough mags. Especially high caps when available :D

I just went and took inventory:

Five 8- round Wilson mags for general purpose and carry use

Two factory Colt mags that came with my late unlamented 1991A1

Seven 8-round McCormick mags

Five 10-round McCormick mags
