That was the dumbest thing I have ever seen that is completely irresponsible.......hahahaha no im lying id like to say that I would never do anything like that but I do have a full tank from my reddy heater this winter.......hmmm. Sound like an idea, check in a few days to see how it goes

*Please see: OBITUARIES

I should be criticizing them but I'm laughing way too hard.

They could have killed themselves though. No doubt.

somebody explain this though:

That's just before the tank explodes. Is that the ricochet bouncing against the water causing those splashes?

Gotta love youtube. All the dumb **** that we ourselves would like to do, you don't have to and risk yourself getting hurt becuase some shmuck has already done it on youtube....

I love it, but yea if that thing flew into him, he'd be a goner

Youtube is blocked on my server... wish it was posted on a mirror site somewhere so I could get in on the fun!

Clorox for the gene pool.
At least they escaped this time.

They are smarter than the idiots (MDs no less) over in GB though.

I would do that, if I was MUCH farther from the tank. I also wouldn't light a firearm around it, I'd use an incendiary round.

Cheese, I noticedthe same thing - are those roostertails from the shock wave of the bullet or is something else going on?

"I'd use an incendiary round."

Nothing will happen.
Propane vapor will not be present when the bullet is present in the correct concentration to burn.
Hitting a gasoline tank will do nothing also.

In WWI even a hydrogen filled dirigible could not be ignited with tracers.
Not enough oxygen in the gas cells to support combustion.

Stupid children...

Fun part is, a while back, I ran into a coupla potential breeders in a Home Depot. They want to buy some springs. Okay... And they want some pieces of plywood cut. Turns out they're planning on (a) mounting the plywood to some tennis shoes; (b) mounting the springs to the plywood; and (c) jumping off a garage roof to see how high they'll bounce. Now, these are kids old enough to drive... Heck, I think they was in college...

Now for the fun part...

I asked 'em which web site they were gonna put it on. Wowzie! They weren't even planning to videotape... I then explained that Break.com would pay 'em enough to offset the emergency room copay...

This was the one I always liked the best. At least the videographer had the sense to put his camera on a tripod:

Holy crap! That was insane. As neat as the video came out though, I'd argue that was even dumber than the original video posted in this thread.

Ever notice how all these type of videos seem to be put on by those with Southern drawls? I'm not criticizing, just saying, there is a trend here.

That was cool. You could tell the camera man spooked a bit and was ready to bail out of the boat when that bottle started flying around.

(I don't mean to sound like a punk)
Then how do you explain the above videos? I'm very interested in hearing your response.

Well, then how do you explain the many videos out there that claim to be propane tanks exploding when hit with incendiary rounds?

Ok, I'm closing this one before someone gets what they think is a bright idea.

However, I think there are three lessons here:

1) Don't shoot at propane tanks.
2) If you ignore 1 and do shoot at propane tanks, it's kinda neat.
3) Video cameras are like heavy machine guns. You have to mount it on a tripod.
