I've had my Ohio permit since they were legal.
The classroom work is common sense. They'll cover "this is a gun" type stuff. The legal aspect is fairly basic, reinforcing the fact that Ohio is a Duty to Retreat state. In other words, don't shoot if you can get away. Kinda logical choice anyway, in my opinion. After reading the pamphlet, hearing the lesson in class and reading the O.R.C. on line, it's pretty much straight foreward except for the "plain sight" requirement in a vehicle.
If you're going to an established school, you'll get more. If you're going to one of the newly spawned "Get Your CCW Here" places, expect to walk away disappointed but legal. Takes about a month to get your permit after dropping off the paperwork at the Sherrifs department.
