Are we required to carry in a holster in Ohio?
I know the law regarding transporting in a motor vehicle is either in a box with a latch or holstered on person. Am I permitted to just carry it in my pocket?

Only while you are in your car.

If YOU are in your vehicle and your pistol is on YOU, then it has to be in a holster.
If YOU don't have it on your PERSON, it can be in the center console, or glove box, neither of which have to be locked. Or in a container with a lid, or a zippered pouch.
