Ohio: State Patrol response to CCW

If these people are, in a fit of rage, willing to shoot police officers, they certainly will not hesitate to kill those they confront on our roadways.

So what he's saying is I'm supposed to be just a sitting target for these people? That's absurd.
Ohio really is the armpit of the North coast.:barf:

About those "law abiding" persons who have killed cops, have they also considered those "cops" that have murdered law abiding citizens. It has happened here.

Cuts two ways. Police are people. too. With all the frailties. Should they be disarmed, as well?

Wow this thread sure has spawned some interesting stuff. We've also had several folks on the OFCC mailing list send emails to the moron.

Our best hope for now may be the Supremes....

Your other points notwithstanding, El T,
...and, above all, abolish their training funds.
I have never found this to be conducive to quality law enforcement. ;)

Then God help us in Ohio. Taft just appointed a replacement on the OH Sup. Ct. for the one justice most known for being a constitutionalist.

Do you REALLY think that Taft didn't ask the big question before naming this appointee? He has just sealed our loss 4-3 on CCW in Ohio. They will find BS about reasonable regulation on manner of carry, not an out right ban, yada, yada, yada.

Our next best hope was to have screemed to high heaven about the results of victim disarmament in the wake of the Case Western shootings. Blood on Taft's hands! The Million Morons (only 6 present) held a press conference while the dead man was still warm. Ohioans For Concealed Carry issued a mild and ignored press release out of respect for the victims.

WE'RE the VICTIMS! :fire: :cuss: :banghead:

At least John Lott had an excellent op/ed piece printed in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

What kind of response would you expect for the commanding officer of a LEO that has embrazzened on their sholder patch for all to see....

A Winged Dounut!

I rest my case.

El T-

Somewhat true, perhaps, but if you restrict the slush, do you actually think they'll take the loss out of discretionary spending? Negative, ghostrider...they'll dial back training.

Standing Wolf,

THey do not write the laws, but Gov. Taft stated that unless the highway patrol and state police back the bill, he will veto it. So, in a backdoor kinda way, they are influencing the law.

Another thought, maybe someone should submit the highway patrol letter and a few responses to the Dispatch, Plain Dealer, etc and see if they can't get them published in the editorial section or what not.

I submitted mine to the Dayton Daily News...of course, there was no response of any kind. I also have not heard back from the OSP or my Representative. I did receive a response from my state Senator who of course is anti...

On another note, I've received no response of any kind from either of my US Senators regarding the AWB either.

Cor, where will they make up the loss? I could care less. Just hurt them, make them whince and bleed (politically, of course). Money is the way to do this.

Since Chief Wiggum doesn't like guns, they could sell their weapons to us since guns don't cause crime here for some reason.

How about taking away their cars? They walk I-70. They can walk from traffic island to traffic island with white batons as in CCCP. It will burn the lard off them, and lower insurance costs. I'm all about the win-win.:D
