OK CZ82 owners.....

Love my CZ82.

Trigger is so smooth, I like the 9mm Makarov round, price is so worth it even with an increase lately.

Make sure you keep the grip screw tightened though, they sometimes work loose.
#60 rubber o-rings make perfect lock washers for the grip screws.

Cons...uh...doesn't have a decocker maybe?

Otherwise it's all pro. Get one. But only one...leave the rest for me.

CZ-83 in 32 ACP just went for $805 on Gunbroker. I think if one of the big names start producing a double stacked poly 32 ACP , it will be a pretty big seller. I sure would like to have a sub-compact (not pocket pistol) that holds 20+1.

It is an outstanding gun, especially for the price, you would be hard pressed to finding a better gun for that price. It is very accurate, good capacity and a number of the things already mentioned in this thread. I however decided to go with the cz 83 for ammo commonality.

While I consider the CZ83 the pinnacle of .32 acp handguns, the fact is, the gun is the same size and weight as a G26 Glock and still in a pocket pistol caliber.
It came on the scene just about the time pocket caliber pistols were being displaced by compact full caliber pistols.
Now, the CZ82/83s in 9mm Makarov are a slightly different beast.
Loaded with full power Russian or Chinese ammunition they are just about equal to anemic 9mm Parabellum loads like the Winchester White Box stuff and like I sad, the gun is the same size and weight as a G26 and carries 12 shots like a G26.

No the CZ82 won't compete with the very best 9mm loads but the best Makarov loads will best the best .380 acp loads every time and get the shooter into mild 9mm Parabellum territory.

Reassembly rally isn't as bad as some are saying; if you've got reasonable mechanical aptitude, patience, and sailorcurt's excellent series of posts it can be done. Like anything mechanical it can have problems due to wear; I just got through tracking down a worn part on mine (which is why I know what is involved in reassembling them!). Parts are readily available. if you go to czfirearms.us there is a subforum dedicated to them.

Well I started reading all these posts and decided that I was going to buy it, the day before I went to pick it up my transmission took a crap in my truck and is cost me $1287.78. If the wife found out I spent money on another gun after fixing my transmission I would need a shoe horn to retrieve my testicles. Needless to say I am not getting the 82

I understand that!

Last year I traded a 9x18 cz82 for a shotgun package because we needed something for HD. Had I known concealed carry was on the horizon in our state I would have kept it for that purpose, even thought it may not have been ideal. I found it to be an extremely smooth operating DA/SA pistol with a fantastic trigger. Recoil was a bit like 9mm from a full size steel gun due to blow back action. I only put a couple hundreds rounds of cheap ammo through it with so-so accuracy but I was not shooting often at the time and others were able to do better than I, so I blame myself.

Yeah, it's one of the uglier CZ pistols, but it felt good in the hand and the trigger made other DA/SA guns look bad. I sure wouldn't pay $850 for one in .32 acp, but I also regret letting it go for the paltry discount it gave me in trade for a garden variety shotgun. It won't do anything a thousand other guns can't do but it will hold it's own.

Ah, man, that's too bad. I hate it when things get moved to the back burner that way. Well, the '82s of the world have waited this long for you, they can wait a little longer. Good luck with the truck.
