Say their was a massive shortage of smokeless(commercial)powder, and you had to make your own.....(Gubmit,aliens,strike,pick your poison)...
How would one find..
A) the formal to make gun powder
B) What ratios to modern reloading could one expect
C) What weapons would best deal with "home grown"Ammo(revolvers?)
D)What weapons would NOT deal with"home grown"(AR15?)
E)would it be closer to black powder?
F)anything illeagal 'bout "totally"making your own 'rounds?
G)????
No,i'm not really that paraniod:)uhoh: ),just wondering, and thought it might be fun to make a few rounds from"scratch"

Making black powder is simple but dangerous. But you better start stocking up on primers. I think you would be going back to the old Flintlock. Making primers is very hard and very very dangerous. Making smokeless powder is not that hard but only very dangerous.

I think under the new laws "making" these components is illegal since they are exposives.

I would look into one of those ulta high powdered repeating .38 caliber "compressed Air" rifles. They can be filled with Scuba tanks or pumped up by hand if you are in good shape. They shoot about as hard as a very light 38, but are super accurate.

I see it the same way E357 does. The only way you are going to be free of manufactured items is with a black powder flintlock.

I do not know the legalities of making black powder, but I have heard it is not hard to make.

I believe that most life threatening political and disaster problems can be fixed best with a passport and money.

Sure, there is some small chance for some Road Warrior scenaro where a gun will be a BIG part of surviving, but not near the chance of the SHTF is best solved with money and a passport.

The trouble is, there are many guys who want a fantasy, and not realistic analysis.
They want to go deer hunting and shoot some other hunters.
They don't want to save money.
They want to spend money on another gun or 4 wheel drive or cabin on vacation property or whatever.

I am in the Seattle area, and I can get to the Vancover BC Canada airport and on a flight to Costa Rica or the likes faster than you can cure a headache.

As a concrete example, Do you think Einstien was better off emigrating to the US or should he have purchased a Mauser?

Take the Einstein test. The part I wrote was about what is in the other person's mind:
