Just a reminder that the Oklahoma Republican primary is tomorrow and you have the choice between Kirk Humphreys (unrated by GOA, former mayor of OKC, makes no mention of guns at all on his website) and Dr. Tom Coburn (GOA A+ rated - singled out as most important Senate race of 2004 by GOA) for the Republican candidate.

The winner of that primary will go on to face Democrat Brad Carson (GOA B-rated) for the Senate seat being vacated by Nickles.

I will be voting for Coburn tomorrow.

The pundits all say it's a slam dunk for Coburn but I'm not so sure. Humphrey is a popular guy in OKC (beats me why - he's gotta very shady real estate past) and he could give Coburn a run for his money.

It'll be interesting especially considering that the turnout for these type of elections is not historically very great. A few folks may decide who our next Senator is. Heck unless one really pays attention even knowing that the primaries are tomorrow isn't something most folks will be aware of. They aren't exactly well advertised.

All the more reason for gun owners to get involved now. The more of us that turn out to vote in primaries (which few people participate in), the more likely we are to have our choice of pro-gun candidates in the general elections.

I was waitin' at the door when the polls opened this morning!

You don't usually get much (or any!) feedback on how the voting is going here until after the polls close at 7 pm.

My wife and I voted for Coburn today. It looks like a low turn out.
We voted around noon and we where the 57 and 58 voters at our
location in the 87 Precinct.

Not only won it; but won it with about 61.5% of the vote according to the state website. Considering that the Republican Party supported Humphreys and the polls showed them as even prior to the election, that is a pretty big win.

Now, regardless of who wins Oklahoma will have a progun Senator in the office. Of course, if Carson wins, he will be voting for a Senate Judiciary Committee dominated by Kennedy, Schumer, Feinstein, etc. - so no matter how pro-gun he is, a vote for Coburn is probably better for us.
