A cousin shared this gun with me today. It was his fathers and came home with him from WWII as a bring-back. The story is that Uncle Sam (yes, that was his name) was a Colonel who helped liberate Italy. He got this pistol in one of the towns as a gift, said to be the gun of a German officer. I'm sorry for the bad pics.

The slide is marked P. Beretta cal 7.65 Brevettata. It has a roll mark on the left side of the frame high behind the grip. There is an S stamped on the frame near the safety. The serial is 6 digits 475xxx, no import markings.

I'd like to learn anything I can about this pistol.

Thanks!

That is a Beretta Model 1935 (or in shorthand, "M35"). If you google that, you'll find lots of history and discussion of it. We commonly refer to the 7.65mm caliber as .32acp. A common WWII era sidearm, and a variant of the .380acp M34. Neat history in yours.
