I googled CZ pistol pre 1980 looking for details on older CZ models to add to my collection & ran into an OLD (Nov 09) post on the CZ Duo that was full of misinformation. To set it straight the CZ DUO is the ONLY model of CZ make that is poorly designed and could be safer. The reason being it is NOT of CZ design. Duo was originally made by Dubroskey (??Not sure, cannot find my references) but after WWII Communists demanded CZ make the cheap vest pistol (Against his will). Duo factory was destroyed. It was only made by CZ a few years until Duo rebuilt.
I see the CZ Euro pistols as on par w/ Walther & others but unknown to US market till recent with terrific design & quality while the DUO (I own one as well as over a dozen other CZ models pre & post 1947) is more on line with Chino made products (raven 25 etc). CZ's 25 & 32 compacts are more like Walther or Browning.
Another Note; the CZ82 is actually a PLUS P version of 9X18 Tok with greater ballistics req by Czech Military.. I recently moved & need to find resource info but online ref exists to verify. DOC Jim Ramski
