old fashioned shooting irons

I agree that plastic guns and black guns are pedestrian, although they do have a place for some. My safe is full of stuff to include a couple black guns. But the most fun are the "old" steel and wood military stuff. I recently bought a 45/70 Springfield Carbine and a 50/70 Sharps Cavalry Carbine. Coupled with casting and loading my own BP cartridges for them, they are incredibly fun to own and shoot.

My current crop of Bubba-rejected projects include:
-a 1901 Argie Mauser, scoped and rebarrelled in .30-06;
-an 1873 Trapdoor with a chopped stock;
-an SKS-M that was painted red, white, and blue;
-a badly butchered 03-a3 that's almost back to life; and,
-a Nam-era AR parts kit that's awaiting a barrel.

Gives me something to do over the winter.
