Old guns for CCW?

Aiming for the belt buckle might not be a bad idea. If you hit low, it's in the ground and unlikely a danger to innocents. If you hit high (probably more likely with adrenaline and recoil) you will hit right in the kill zone - upper chest or head.

I carry a old H&R 922 a lot...............
One of my favorite older carry pieces is a 922 "bicycle gun" with a 2.5" barrel. Lovely weapon. I'll see if I can get some pics up of that and maybe some of my other older choices.

Again...to the best of my knowledge...Jordan never advocated the belt buckle as an aiming point. That was just where his revolver happened to be pointing during a one-hand fast draw at close range.

If we look at the pictures of Jelly Bryce's "FBI Crouch" that was prevalent during the day, we can point out that not only would the Jelly Bean not likely win any action matches with it, he'd probably be laughed off the range in this day and age.

But the fact still stands that by his own admission, he killed 19 men in his career...all of whom were armed and trying to kill him, and most of them drew first.

Modern grand masters who execute a .6 draw/fire/hit sequence are impressive, but facing Bryce, they'd spend the last 2/10ths of a second bleeding. Against Jordan or Cantrell, they'd never clear the leather.

Jordan's draw and hit has been timed at 27/100ths of a second from signal to shot...including reaction time. He once said of Ed Cantrell: "I reckon Ed's a mite bit faster than me."

My rotation includes a Cobra from 1955 and some Diamondbacks from the 60s.

There are times when I can only carry a tiny, modern 9mm...but mostly it is an old Colt.

Recently I've been carrying a S&W Model 10 NY-1 with a 3" barrell. The gun was delivered to the NYPD Academy in 1984. It was carried by an MOS until he retired in 2003. It made its way through a few sales and finally to me, where it will have a home as long as I live! The finish is pretty beat up, but the trigger is SMOOTH! I carry it in an old Alessi belt holster I got on eBay; great gun and history to boot! If only it could talk...

Main carry is a Remington Rand 1911 produced December, 1946.
I'm here today because of one of these. They knew how to make a pistol back then. I have no idea what happened to that particular Remmington Rand 1911, but I kinda hope it's still in some GI's holster doing for him what it did for me.
