Old Hornady spire points the same as Interlocks?

I inherited a bunch of reloading supplies and loaded ammo when my grandfather passed away. Among this was a bunch of 270 130 grain Hornady spire point ammo and components (likely from the 1980's). They shoot well out of my gun but I had total jacket separation on a broadside 75 yard shot on a whitetail doe. The bullet completely disintegrated inside the ribcage and shoulder was not touched.

My question is, are the older Hornady's the same as the ones being marketed as the "Interlock" now? They visually look identical right down to the position of the cannelure. If so, is jacket separation normal for the Interlock? I usually use Partitions and Accubonds. Photo attached. Thanks

From the Hornady website: "In 1977, Hornady introduced an even more important innovation, the “InterLock” design. Bullets with the InterLock feature have an interior ring that locks jacket and core together, thereby minimizing separation."

Upon reading, it seems that the InterLock was a significant improvement to the spire point design.
