Old Hornady Spire Pts. in fast twist .223 ???

Have any of you use the older Hornady 60 gr. Spire Points in a .223 with a fast twist barrel ? I just aqquired several hundred in a trade and am looking to try them in my Tikka T3 Lite which has a 1 in 8 twist. Not sure what the jackets on these are capable of handling and speed is not my major concern here vs. accuracy . These are the ones with the cannelure on them although I wont be seating them that short . I see where the later ones did not have the cannelure and dont know if there were any other changes. Any hands on expieriences you might share would be greatly appreciated and if you hunted with them how did they hold up on small to mid sized game ?
